Comic Book Guy is obese, nerdy, hairless and perhaps best known for his sarcastic quips and hectoring. He holds a master's degree degree in mythology and hypocrisy. His catchphrase is the declaration "THAT’s NOT RIGHT!!". A character of the 2 faced variety, this is not a person not to turn your back on as you are likely to find yourself stabbed in it.

-----------------------------------

A lot of people encounter problems in pronouncing his first name correctly.

The correct pronunciation is “comic” (if you can read phonetics - if you can't you'll just have to believe us).

If you say the word “vomit” but pronounce the “t” softly you will get the hang of it.

-----------------------------------

Appropriate to his name, Comic Book Guy is obsessed with promoting himself and his various business interests in online forums. He also owns a T-shirt that says "C:/DOS C:/DOS/RUN RUN/DOS/RUN". (Note from Michele – That’s not right!, this seems to be an error by the writers as the correct use would be c:\ rather than c:/ in a DOS based system). He is a member of the Sleaty Road branch of Mensa

Business

Initially started out as a hosting company however is now morphing into a sprawling array of commercial “community” sites where he can exercise his personal agendas.

He owns and operates browse.ie, armchair.ie, technology.ie, films.ie, isquattedyour.eu, monetize.it, penseiri, Irish Webmaster Forum and search.ie.

All these assets are held in his personal name rather than in joint ownership with his patient 50% partner in Blacknight. If the growing ad revenue from the sprawling communities goes to Blacknight Limited is not known.

His self appointed role as online community contributor is undermined by the fact that every post he has ever made includes his commercial signature, a strategy that has paid big dividends as his online commercial interests have gone from strength to strength with little expenditure on advertising.

Sadly when it comes to awards, Comic Book Guy is always the bridesmaid but never the bride, being an also ran at many events such as the IIA elections, IIA awards, the Blog awards etc

In a direct parallel with his Simpsons lookalike, there is a hosting shop in the same town called "Hosting365", and the proprietor is known as Babyface. Comic Book Guy and Babyface have a love/hate relationship, they find each other’s company online mutually reassuring (better the devil you know) however they would cut each other’s throats commercially if they had the opportunity with Babyface currently having the upper hand in this struggle.

When asked about similarities with the Simpsons CBG character Simpsons contributor Hank Azaria noted that the difference with Neylon is that he "loves that the character is an adult who argues with adults as if they're children."
